How to care for Graptoveria 'Avant-garde'
Sun/Temperature: It thrives in ample sunlight, but insufficient light may cause it to turn green. It can be placed in full sun during the growing season, but some partial shading might be needed during hot summers. The best temperature range for growth is between 65°F to 80°F . Avoid temperatures below 30°F as they may damage the leaves.
Soil/Watering: Use well-draining succulent soil, preferably with a high proportion of perlite or coconut coir, for better aeration. Watering once a week is usually sufficient. Reduce watering frequency in winter to prevent overwatering. The soak and dry watering method can be employed.
Pot: Choose pots with drainage holes made of stone or clay to ensure good drainage.
Diseases and Pests: Common issues include root rot and tip rot caused by overwatering. Adjust watering frequency promptly and ensure good ventilation to prevent these problems.
Propagation: Propagation can be done leaf propagation. Take healthy leaves, let them callus in a dry, ventilated environment, then place them in moist soil. After about two to three weeks, new seedlings will begin to grow.
Fertilization: During the growing season, apply diluted succulent fertilizer once a month. Choose a specialized fertilizer and follow the application instructions on the packaging.
