As a hybrid Hosta, or plantain lily, White Feather is hardy in Zones 3-9 and grows with a mounding, symmetrical habit. Perfect for creating ground cover, it also excels in garden borders, container plantings, and woodland gardens. Its ability to fill in after spring bulbs fade makes it an invaluable addition to any shade garden.
White Feather is remarkably easy to grow. It thrives in dappled to full shade, requiring rich, moist, well-draining soil with a neutral to slightly acidic pH. Regular watering is essential to prevent drying out, and it benefits from an annual application of slow-release fertilizer. Though adaptable, it does not tolerate full sun and thrives best in consistently shaded environments.
Plant White Feather hosta roots in spring, spacing them 12 to 36 inches apart and burying them 1½ to 2 inches deep.
