This is a fitted vintage maxi dress in a bold abstract print typical of the transition period between the late 1960s and early 1970s. It is fully lined in black acetate and closes at the back with a long metal zipper. Decorative pale yellow buttons accent the front bodice, while horizontal bands of yellow ric-rac trim define the empire seam and repeat around the torso for visual structure.
The vivid pattern—swirling lines in red and pink with clustered yellow and white bursts on a black ground—is very much in line with psychedelic-influenced prints that carried over from the late 60s into the early 70s. Combined with the metal zipper, long sleeves, empire shaping and jersey fabric, this piece most strongly suggests circa 1969–1972.
Although tagged a size Small, the measurements indicate a much narrower modern fit, closer to an XS.
There is no fibre label present, but based on the texture, drape, stretch and print style, this is almost certainly polyester jersey, which became widely used for dresses exactly like this around 1969 onward.
